Turkish delight

September 15 2015 7 pm viewer tasted something very delicious and interesting ,very different altogether. ☺☺No ,No, I am not talking about any dish but whole new experience of watching a series or drama from Turkey. This was the day when the first episode of Turkish series "Feriha" was telecast. A different Story , beautiful actors and actress, beautiful location, every character show case their importance ,to the point story. It was instant hit with the Indian viewer.

we were used to Saas-Bahu drama that run  up to 3 years .The story line changes as per TRP irrespective of story that was . The type of domestic politics and intrigue among the members of family were shown was out of proportion. It did not seem natural . Those viewers who wanted change and was bored by these Saas-Bahu drama it was a delight for them.Watching something different, something fresh . Zee Zindagi was such a hit that it gave zee TV and other TV channel dearth of TRP and viewership. 

After feriha, "Fatmagul" happened. It was such a heart touching and emotional story very well portrayed by Beren Serat and Engin Akyürek . Those who were not much convince with Feriha they were finally fallen for Fatmagul. The turkish Ladies made their way very smoothly into the hearts of Indian viewers.

A superb comedy series came up that was "The Little Lord" absolutely hilarious .Wonderful comic timing of the kid Emir Berke Zincirdi and the other cast. The comical journey of the child tensed about his parents planning for divorce. We might have been able to watch the second season but it was not possible due to Untimely demises of  Aaga jaan played by Zeki Alasya  in an accident

Another surprise  that stole the heart was "Kuzey Guney" awesome story of two brothers who fall in love with the same girl . A very thoughtful and well written plot. The blue eyed handsome men of turkey Kivanç Tatlitug, Bugra Gülsoy. Just loved Öykü Karayel. They are seamless actors. Another Series "Love Story" was also equally good.

one of the most important aspect of these series were that they were either 50 or 80 episodes. Another thing that I have observed that there was no display of religion in the series. No celebration of prominent festivals of Turkey. where as in Indian series the celebration of festival eats up a week  .

Zee Zindagi stopped airing the content and was shifted to online platform called Ozee in July 2017.Those who don't have access to internet was left stunned and saddened.
